Job summary: This role is responsible for developing a wide variety of predictive models and analytical tools that will enable the GRM Western European Market (WEM) to achieve their profitability and growth goals. The role will include applying sophisticated predictive modelling and analytical analysis to a broad range of business problems; communicating the results of their work to stakeholders; and providing guidance and peer oversight to other team members and modelling groups. The role will provide highly technical analytical assessments of business issues to a mixture of technical and non-technical audiences across the organisation to enable data-driven strategic decision-making.

Job Summary: Serves as a lead technical consultant in the area. Acts as technical expert on the most complex and challenging aspects of database management including: Database design; Performance tuning; Backup and recovery; Security; Disaster Recovery; Capacity management. Is competent to work in all phases of database management independently. Acts as team lead on complex projects. Provides oversight and expertise to application developers in SQL Coding and tuning, coding and deployment of stored procedures. Consults on complex technical issues. Contributes to architectural decisions. Assists in training less experienced DBAs.
 

Analyse and develop logical data base designs, data models and relational data base definitions across multiple computing environments. Utilise skills and expertise in Data Management best practices to include business need analysis, data source identification and analysis, data modelling techniques, metadata and master data management standards to deliver data solutions that support business need. Provide data element naming consistent with standards and conventions and ensures that data dictionaries are maintained across multiple data base environments. Consult with data base administration and client areas in resolving questions during the translation to a physical data base design. Provide in-depth consulting to data stakeholders in the identification and resolution of information flow and content issues. Participate in the development and maintenance of corporate data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data dictionaries and data element naming standards and conventions for multiple computing environments to support data warehousing and efficient data mining.

As a member of an Agile squad, you will deliver key technology solutions in direct alignment with business strategies. The industry changes quickly, so we are looking for you to respond to change, pick up new technologies quickly and adapt to changing requirements. We also want you to take pride in your work and have strong design and development expertise. We value quality secure code delivery and expect you to demonstrate competence at design, build and run.

Key technologies include, but are not limited to Jenkins, Bitbucket, deployment automation, Blue-Green, Deployment & Release Management, Branching Strategy, CICD and AWS. We’ve seen great success in our recent pilot and are excited to be expanding this work in the US and Ireland as the way we approach claims going forward.
